Turkish firms showcase products at largest satellite show in US
Turksat, TAI, Aselsan, Profen, Fergani Space attend Satellite 2025 Conference and Exhibition in Washington, DC
Türkiye’s leading satellite firms, including Turksat, Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI), Aselsan, Profen, and Fergani Space, showcased their products at the Satellite 2025 Conference and Exhibition, the world’s largest satellite show.
The event, held in Washington,DC on March 10-13, has been hosting the world’s leading satellite manufacturers since 1981.
Omer Fatih Sayan, Turkish deputy minister of transport and infrastructure, told Anadolu that the number of Turkish firms appearing on the global stage at the world’s largest satellite show is increasing every year.
While visiting Turkish firms’ booths at the event, Sayan stated that Türkiye’s domestic satellite industry journey started with the “ Turksat 6A” project, the country’s first homegrown communications satellite that was launched from Florida in July 2024.
The deputy minister highlighted that great interest was seen for Turkish firms at the event, which acts as a platform for these firms to establish international connections.
Sayan noted that the Turkish firms at the event developed components that were used in the Turksat 6A.
He mentioned that the renewal project of the Turksat 3A satellite, which is about to expire, is also on the agenda, as the ministry is researching ways to bring the project to life with the highest ratio of domestically-made components used possible.
Ahmet Hamdi Atalay, general manager of Turksat, said the firm has been participating in this event for many years now, together with TAI, Aselsan, Profen, and Fergani Space, having formed a “Turkish pavilion.”
Yusuf Bora Kartal, deputy general manager of Aselsan, stated the firm has provided solutions to the Turkish Armed Forces and both domestic and foreign clients for nearly 25 years with a wide range of products, ranging from ground terminals to payloads in space.
Necdet Apaydin, deputy general manager of technology innovation at Profen, noted the firm produces satellite communications technologies used in security and defense with its 30 years of experience.
Taha Tetik, director at TAI, said the significant achievements in Turksat 6A and Türkiye’s earth observation satellites have been very important.
The Turkish firms attending the event have conducted vario us meetings with subcontractors and potential customers.
