Turkish foreign minister continues diplomatic contacts in Iraq

Fidan meets Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid and Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani in Baghdad, continuing high-level talks with Iraqi officials
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan was received by Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid and Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani on Sunday in the Iraqi capital. Following discussions with Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein in Baghdad, Fidan continued his high-level contacts in the country, meeting with Iraq's president, prime minister, and Parliament Speaker Mahmoud al-Mashhadani, according to diplomatic sources. He also met with Hasan Turan, head of the Iraqi Turkmen Front, as well as National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji and Defense Minister Thabet Muhammad Saeed Riza Al-Abbas. No details were yet released from the closed-door meetings, which took place amid major regional developments, including two separate ceasefire deals, with Israel and both Lebanese group Hezbollah and Palestinian group Hamas, and efforts by Syria’s new government to establish itself in the country’s post-Assad era.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan was received by Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid and Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani on Sunday in the Iraqi capital.

Following discussions with Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein in Baghdad, Fidan continued his high-level contacts in the country, meeting with Iraq's president, prime minister, and Parliament Speaker Mahmoud al-Mashhadani, according to diplomatic sources.
